LOCAL ARTIST - LORETTA SMITH

 

Since a child, art in general has been a major focus in my life. Art in all its forms excites me, whether it be ceramic, textiles, acrylic paint and inks. In the past I had a small business making leather and suede accessories, these sold really well and encouraged me to use the off cut in my artwork to produce mixed media pieces.  I have won numerous awards starting from school to present time.

I have sold my work at many galleries including;

• The Village Gallery Hampton
• Williamstown Picture Framing

My passion at present is experimenting with alcohol inks onto a variety of surfaces.

My work offers vibrancy and movement. I love the spontaneous reaction and unplanned marks that just evolve into a well balanced painting.  I am experimenting with a limited palette as many of my clients required work that isn't restricting of colour schemes.
